VDL Bubalu is the sire of the new Dutch foal champion Huwerna. The finals of the national foal show were dominated by VDL-sires. Reserve champion Hyberlino H is by Zirocco Blue VDL and 5th placed Hilde Balia was sired by Baltic VDL.

While VDL Bubalu came to the rescue of Dutch show jumping in the final of the FEI Nations Cup in Dublin, he produed both the champion of the Dutch national foal show and 6th placed Harteveld VDL.
