In the final of the World Championships for seven year old horses there was a stroke of bad luck for Jessica Kürten and Arezzo VDL. The pair qualified for the jump off, after three days of power jumping. Only four combinations made it to this exciting final round in Lanaken. Taking a very sharp right turn, Arezzo VDL and Jessica Kürten came a bit too close to the side of a fence, pushing the standard to the ground, causing four penalty points. Fourth place, just beside the podium, was a poor reward for three fantastic days of top performance.
